Simplification

Eeeey!  Old look is old.  Finally getting some photos cleared off the old compooter.

Lid/creasular region:  white-pink shadow from the Wet'n'Wild trio of suck

Liner:  UD 24/7 liner in Oil Slick topped with the lid shade

Lips:  Palladio lip stain in Rosy (or something) topped with DG Hologloss in Violet Hill

I have no idea what else in on that thurr face.  'Tis a mystery.

New Year's Makeup!

I was super lazy and never posted this.  I have been lazy in many makeup related things, to be honest.  I think I've been on a bit of a lip-product kick lately, which is a shame because my lips have been awfully chapped lately.  Makes it hard to wear anything.  But it is what it is!  I can start preparing for spring and figure out what lip balms work best for healing my sad, cat-butt-ish mouf.

Lids:  AL shakeitup glitter over Fyr PE

Crease:  both sides of the L'Oreal HiP Electrified duo

Highlight:  the same white-pink shadow as usual

Inner corner:  taupe from the L'Oreal HiP Electrified duo

Lower lashline:  ES Necropolis, NYX Candy glitter liner thingy in Disco Ball

Eyeliner:  Palladio Eye Ink in black

Eyebrow(n)s:  that NYC pencil liner in Mink or Sable or some animal-related name

Cheeks:  NYC bronzer in Sunny, applied as blush

Gum:  Trident Tropical Twist**

I ended up applying the tiniest bit of Revlon Peach Petal gloss after the photos were done.  I knew I'd be consuming various beverages and didn't want to worry about reapplying lip product or smearing things all over my face, so a nude gloss seemed safe.

**this stuff smells like a can of air freshener spray my mom kept in our house when I was in elementary school.  It was an orange canister that had a bunny on it, and the bunny was sitting on a bunch of fruit and there was this giant peach that had a bite taken out of it.  The peach was weirdly glisten-y and covered in dewdrops or something, and in hindsight it was oddly sexual.  Anyway, this stuff was supposed to be peach-scented and the way this gum smells reminds me very strongly of that air freshener, so I usually pretend it's peach-flavored gum instead of tropical whatever.  Anyway.

Stuff in my Purse

The situation:  this is my everyday junk for school, grocery store trips and taking care of mother-in-law.  I like to think I'm rather low maintenance.

The bag:  a large blue thing from Target; I can't find it on the website so I'm guessing it's discontinued, which seems strange since I got it 6 months ago.  I don't know anything about purses, I just like them big like my desserts.

The stuff:  there is a LOT of it.

The closeups:

Contents, closeup one

-keys for my car, the apartment, and Mr. Mango's car (which I drive on school days)

-old student football ticket (Farmageddon!)

-small wallet with student ID, driver's license, debit/credit cards, insurance card and a small amount of cash

-polymer eraser

-iPod loaded with podcasts for the hour+ drive to school

-hair tie and bobby pins, just in case

-pencils, pen and fine-tip Sharpie for notes and crossword puzzles

Contents, closeup two

-gum to help with my morning coffee breath (I brush my teeth before leaving but bring a travel mug of coffee for the drive, so this is a must)

-16 gb flash drive for homework and projects

-Burt's Bees cuticle cream

-random earring whose partner has been lost

-Bath and Body Works hand cream

-sample pod of OHWTO Bay Rum solid perfume; I'm trying to use this thing up because I have way too many samples of things to merit keeping all of them forever.

-Yes To Carrots C Me Shine lip gloss in Coral Sunshine, also trying to finish this product

-Rosebud Brambleberry Rose lip balm, which smells divine and always gets compliments from classmates.  It gets a little creepy when dudes lean close and say "You smell good" but at least I know the coffee breath isn't repelling people.

-cheapy sunglasses from my sister, because I can't find my Versace glasses (which were free, oddly enough)

-upside-down HTC Evo, love of my life and bane of my existence.  I've forgotten this thing at home several times this year and it always freaks the husband out because he can't check on me to see if I'm in classes or if I've crashed in a ditch somewhere.

Contents, closeup three

-giant wallet containing rewards cards for various stores (Ulta, Michael's, Hobby Lobby, etc.) and library cards <3

-notepad from Gyrodata, used for reminders, to-do lists, and doodles

-lint roller, because I tend to wear dark clothing and have an orange cat who likes to lay on me right when I need to go somewhere

-Sense and Sensibility, which I've wanted to reread for a loooong time

-free planner provided by the university, which has seen better days

-leather gloves from my grandmother; these are in surprisingly good condition for being thirty-ish years old, and they've been useful now that the temperatures are low and I have to scrape the windshield regularly

I rarely carry any makeup in the bag because I always forget to touch up.  If I do bring anything along it's usually a pressed powder and a lipstick or gloss, if I'm actually wearing one for a change.  Other things that I'll carry are my graphing calculator and a newspaper.

So yeah!  Maybe next month I'll try this again when I pull out one of the new purses from my mother; she found them at JCPenney's for $9 or something ridiculous.  She is a shopping black belt---like TENTH DEGREE black belt.

Search Engine Results Summary: this should be fun

This seemed like a fun thing to do with der blog since I'm not quite back to slapping on my face on the daily.

A while ago I was checking the stats page on Wordpress (don't judge me) and noticed there were a few results that I got on a consistent basis.

The Nice:  When I looked through the complete list of search engine terms I found that over a third of all of the search-engine hits on this blog come from variations on these phrases:

  • fyrinnae lip lustre swatches

  • zomg smells

  • concrete minerals swatches

I'm kind of happy about this because I kind of like swatching and reviewing things and sharing fun independent companies with the world.  When I ordered from indie MMU companies I almost always relied on blogger swatches to figure out what I wanted, and when no swatches were available for a particular company it was tempting to say "screw it" and flop around doing other things.

The Strange:  I don't know if I understand these.

  • orion constellation tattoo

  • open minded skanky hoe

  • yiss

  • poop candy pants

  • donkey poop (what is it with these people and poop?)

  • dragon rides

  • earl stuffington (new cat name)

  • friggin happiness fairy

  • brown fox baby hide (wtf)

  • movie brown unicorn (something about the color brown, I guess)

The "HOLY SHIT CREEPER ALERT":  I hope nobody out there is wanking to closeup shots of my eyeballs.

  • lipstick blowjob (10 results)

  • sexy freckle (4)

  • lipstick sucking (4)

  • sucking curves (3)

  • hand fingers woman girl (3)

  • meat boner warm love  (3)

  • super tight skirt chubby (2)

  • creamy tits.gif (2)

  • sexy nice legs (2)

  • white bare skin (2)

The extra creepy part?  20% of all search directs are from unknown search terms, which (according to WP) are predominantly due to privacy settings that help users conceal their questionable internet activities.  So someone could be looking up "unicorn earhole butter gangbang" and getting sent here for all of their creepy fantastical bestiality desires.

It's Complicated

I'm so frustrateeeeeeeeed

I haven't posted here for quite a while for several reasons. Right now my relationship with my makeup stash is a little complicated. This is partly due to certain products---the ELF primer that I was using inexplicably turned to utter crap after 2 months of use, and the liquid eyeliner that I purchased is preposterously difficult to remove, even with olive oil, and I don't want to wear it again until I can figure out a safe, non-painful way to get that shit off my eyes---and partly because I've been feeling pretty bleh. Recent [dramatic] events with the indie and mineral makeup community have left me a bit bummed out. I don't blame the makeup or the community for this and I don't want to pass judgement on the situation so I've just been avoiding it altogether.

I've also spent quite a bit of time reading, especially stories that are outside my usual tastes, and job hunting. So much job hunting. And with that hunting comes the need for boring or minimalistic makeup. At this point I'm considering discussing the things that I'm reading, or perhaps adding writing and novel structure to my list of acceptable blogging topics, but I haven't quite decided. On the plus side I have an assload (not a literal assload, that would be disgusting) of pictures for posting so there's going to be a bunch of stuff eventually.

Also, I'm as excited as Coco with a mothafuckin yogurt drop because The Woman In Black is out and I really want to see Daniel Radcliffe in sexy Victorian duds. Hoo boy.
